The pitta person should avoid all hot and sour foods as they will aggravate this dosha.
They should also avoid all fried foods. Since heated food will increase pitta within the system.
Pitta types should eat more raw than cooked foods, as a primarily vegetarian system.
Ayurveda does not advocate the eating of animal products especially for the pitta dosha
Some meats and other products have been included in the following list, they should really be used in the strictest moderation.

Herbs and Spices
Aloe vera juice (totally avoid during a pregnancy), basil leaves. cinnamon. coriander (cilantro), cumin, dill. fennel, fresh ginger, hijiki. mint leaves. spearmint.
Grains and Seeds
Barley, basmati rice. flax seeds, psyllium seeds. rice cakes, sunflower seeds, wheat, wheat bran. white I-ice.
Protiens
Aduki beans, black beans, black-eyed beans, chick peas (garbanzos). kidney beans, lentils (red and brown). lima beans.mung beans. pinto beans. soya beans, split –peas, tempeh and tofu,Chicken, fresh water, fish, rabbit, turkey
Vegetables
Artichokes. asparagus. broccoli, Brussels sprouts. butternut squash. cabbages, courgettes (zucchini). celery, cucumber, fennel. green beans and green peppers, Jerusalem artichokes, kale. leafy greens, leeks, lettuces, mushrooms. onions (cooked), parsnips, spinach (cooked). Eat most vegetables raw instead of cooked.
Fruits
Apples, apricots, avocados. berries. cherries. dates, figs, mangoes, melons. oranges, pears, pineapples, plums. pomegranates. prunes. quinces. raisins. red grapes and watermelons. Always make sure that the fruits have fully ripened, and are very sweet and fresh.
Dairy Products
Cottage cheese, cow’s milk, diluted Yoghurt,ghee (clarified butter),goats milk, Mild soft cheeses and unsalted butter may
All be taken but with a reasonable degree Of moderation
Cooking Oils
Olive oil, sunflower oil, soya and walnut oil. As with all dairy products, these oils should be used in moderation.
Drinks
Apple juice. apricot juice. cool dairy drinks. grape juice, mango juice. mixed vegetable juice, soya milk, vegetable bouillon, elderflower tea. jasmine tea, spearmint tea and strawberry tea
